Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report from Greenmoor Road (near Applebee Road) where at 23:30 on the night of the 5th of October, suspects have removed CCTV from the front and back of the property and then fled the scene. Suspected to be vehicle related. 26000605204
Report from Burbage Road (near Woodgate Road) between 03:00-03:30 on the morning of the 7th of October where suspects were seen to climb gates to approach a rear door of the property. Suspects fled before making entry. Suspected vehicles were being targeted. 26000603058
We are completing work in these areas but if you have any CCTV of suspects or suspect vehicle, please pop me an email to Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Other reports this week include ongoing issues with E-scooters on Tilton Road Park. Whilst we have completed a lot of work in Burbage around this, it continues to be raised locally. We will continue to do what we can to challenge this and address those involved.
Concerns raised regarding double parking and generally dangerous parking on St Catherines Close at Hastings High school. It appears this is being caused by parents. Parking such as stopping the school coach from getting to the school and parking on bends. Again, we ask parents to be mindful and considerate of others. Patrols ongoing.
There appears to be a scam on Facebook advertising for vendors and stall holders for a “Christmas Fayre” at the Millennium Hall on the 8th of November. The Parish council have NO knowledge of this event. Please DO NOT pay any money for this. The official Burbage Christmas market is Friday the 27th of November on Windsor Street. Statement from Burbage Parish Council “We have been made aware of a Facebook post looking for stall holders for a Christmas Fayre allegedly being held at Millennium Hall over the weekend of 7 and 8 November 2026. Please be aware there is no such public event being held here over Remembrance weekend”
If you have paid for a stall at this event, please complete a crime report via the Leicestershire Police website with as much information as possible.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
3 Stop searches completed on Brookfield Road at 20:00 on the 6th of October, small quantity of drugs seized.
Vehicle seized on the 7th of October at 21:00 from Burbage Road due to being involved in crime.
Message from Sgt Cross
Officers have arrested a 15-year-old male on suspicion of being linked to a number of burglaries and vehicle thefts across Hinckley & Burbage. The male arrested has not been charged and enquiries remain ongoing. We are aware of the recent reports concerning youths riding around the area on two red motorcycles/mopeds. One of the individuals involved is suspected to be the male arrested today and that forms part of our ongoing enquiries. We're seeing plenty of posts, photos, videos and comments appearing on local social media pages, including Spotted Hinckley & Burbage. If a crime is in progress
Patrols include Tilton Road park, Amber Way/Brookfield Road, Hastings High School and the Three Pots area.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Please be mindful that it was around this time last year where incidents of residential burglary and car crime increased. Please review your home security, especially if you own high powered and valuable vehicles. I have attached our crime reduction catalogue if you would like any support.
Please really consider crime reduction as we head towards the darker nights and school holidays. Crime prevention advice | Leicestershire Police
I will be at the Three Pots Post Office on Monday 12th October for our local officer drop in between around 15:00-16:30 if you would like a chat or to see any of our crime reduction items.
Thank you and take care.
